Default opinion on tints

I like my cars w/o tints but I want to protect the interior. Also I thought it would be cool to have the top down and tinted windows up...incognito style. My car looks like this. Should I get the black (i know theyre really grey/purplish) or titanium? 20% is the legal limit, I dont want to go darker.

Purplish tint is usually a sign of cheap tint.

If you want 20% then go for it. Personally, that's too dark for me. I was contemplating something more like 50%.

Any who, tinted windows do look great on these cars.

Never heard of titanium. I have a 50% executive tint all around, even on the windshield. Go to Johnsons films website and there is a few different styles to choose from.

It is possible but the vision is a blur when you look through it.

I have heard a few people w/ EVOs that have tinted their front windshields complain of electrical issues since the tinting. Suggesting that during the installation of the tint, some liquid from applying the tint may have drained down into some moisture sensitive areas and caused damage that way.

My brother had a G35 and complained of the same thing. Have you guys heard any similar situations like this w/ the front windshield?

I personally am not a fan of tint...IMO cars look much cleaner with out it.

Where I am from, it's illegal to tint the drivers/passenger front windows...but even if it wasn't, I still wouldn't do it.

I agree with you, but sometimes I just want some privacy.

and tint reduces interior temps....as well as helping to preserve the leather....

just cover it when your not in it. I personally think tints take away from the look of the car but if you dont care then get them.

I have mine tinted 15% all around - except for the windshield of course. Tint is a great investment, and I would put it on any car. 15% is a good amount that at night it's not too dark, yet you can't see inside the car very well, which is nice. During the daytime, you can't see in the car very well either, but sometimes depending on lighting, you can see outlines of figures inside the car.

On your post about having the windows up while the top is down, you would probably need limo tint to actually not be able to see you, because of the light.

not really, it just you.

will you drop the top in the rain at night because your rear is too dark to see?

I never under why people tint their window on a convertible, but again that just me

who in the right mind will tint the front windshield?

it doesn't take much spray to put on a tint if the installer knows what he/she is doing. most people complain about tint is when they bubble and need to remove it, the antenna mask/defroster line can be damage in the process.
