pretty much the articles in SCC was about Opera in general and it shows their work. I read the whole mag last week, its a very interesting story too. Pretty much the owner of opera has been involved in racing his whole life, and his father was a master with metal working, so he took on a special technique. As you can see in the pictures from S2ki, he does a special technique called "chamfering" which is where he makes many circular cutouts in an area, which makes the weight be transfered around the circles. This is proven to be very realiable, strong, weight saving... thats why his s2k 2167 lbs

Champhering (sp?) is not a "special technique", take a look in a dictionary to see the definition. What he does is cut the hole, and then tapers the edge of the hole in a smooth way so there is no edge. Similar to how a valve is cut in a head, I guess. If you look closely at the pictures in the article, you'll see what I mean. They are not just rough cuts with a hole-saw bit. Also, if you look at the back of the article, you'll see that it makes 27x horsepower, therefore it is not a stock motor.
