Default A noobs question

Little introduction: My names Jake and i recently purchased an 04 s2k. Ive got big plans for it and my first step is a pretty normal route. (Another intake question, woohoo.)

Ive searched here, s2ki, and all over google.
Im currently leaning towards the passwordjdm intake. It seems to give fairly good gains all through the powerband, has a good sound at WOT, its pretty sexy, and its very lightweight.

also considering the comptech. Seems to be a good choice.

Basically all im asking is for personl experience, what intake does everybody prefer? or what are pros and cons of some.

one concern i have is sucking in water with any intake system, i live in oregon (land of rain) and the car will be lowered soon. Also curious about this.

sorry for such a big wall of text for a simple question

no one got a input? well heres my 2 cents.

passwordjdm yeah nothing really bad about it except for the price. not all of us can purchase that 1000 intake.

comptech is better for the money but wont give as much hp as the passwordjdm.

you dont need to worry about the rain because none of these intakes are cold air intakes.

how are u plannin to lower it? coilovers? springs? cause i recommend skunk2 springs because of the aggressive drop they give which is 1.8-2. other brands only do a 1 in drop (like tein, megan, etc). trust me, you are going to want that 2 inch drop!

if im wrong correct me anyone. nice pick up and good luck

From everything i've read the K&N FIPK has the best gains and they can be had new for 200 on eBay

that was one of the main reasons im leaning toward the passwordjdm, overall seems to be the best. It is a little spendy but thats not an issue.

FIPK... I'm happy

Why spend $1000 on an intake?! U could get an intake and another nice mod for $1000. Maybe been 2 extra mods depending on what you want and quality. But I went FIPK and Q300 70 mm dual with TP n for both it ran me $890 shipped...

Where did you come to that conclusion? I've seen more threads complaining about poor fitment and quality than I have 'good' threads regarding it.

The K&N FIPK gets the most attention from everything I've seen.

Only heard terrible things about fitment, rattling, and build quality of the PWJDM. The gains are good though, although you could get nearly the same gains out of a K&N FiPK and have $700+ go to something else.

Another vote for the FiPK here

I have the K&N FIPK as well and it's great, no complaints. The PWJDM intake is very sexy, but for $1000 there really should be no issues with it and HUGE gains.
