NEW S2000's?!
I heard the '04 S2K's are upgrading to a 2.21 L and having softer springs.. and '05 S2K's are gonna be COUPE too. OH NO! What has the world came down to! A S2K COUPE?!!! Is this true?! Please clarifyyyy...... thanks folks.
yeah thats what the rumors say.
im 100% sure that the '04 will hve the 2.2 liter motor, different gearing, different instrumentation, different front/rear bumper, 17" wheels(maybe) and softer suspension.
im still happy with my '03 though.

The rumors are true! 2004 model will be the same, but with the 2.2L i-vtec engine, 2005 will change to the coupe. The horsepower BETTER go up.. A coupe kinda takes the originality of what the s2k is known as. Bleh.. and so I cry.
Yeah, I heard there were softer springs.. but who knows, I might be wrong.

The August issue of Car&Driver had a small article somewhere about the changes for the 04 S2K. This is the issue where they compared the S2K, Audi TT, Porsche Boxter, BMW Z4 and Nissan Z Roadster. (The S2000 beat all of them!
) I'll find it tonight and list it here later.
Anyways, it mentioned the 2.2L engine, but it also mentions that it'll have the SAME 240HP rating. (Yeah, I know...that SUCKS!) Basically, they wanted to give the car a more "usable" torque curve.
Also, it mentions the slightly softer suspension...supposedly Honda wanted to make the car more "drivable". (Whatever THAT means)
And lastly, it mentioned that the front and rear bumpers are going to be reworked a little bit. The article didn't mention anything about the Coupe version, although it's still a possibility.
I don't know....whatever the case, I'll just keep my 03.

jeeze mai, this whole s2k thing is all you post about.
the redline will be dropped a grand to only push out the same amnt of hp, but the torque will go up. i think that is an overall improvement. but i bet those new -vtec engine can still hold their own at 9k. so just go to hondata with your ecu.
and besides, you see what i-vtec does for the k20's?
imagine what the f22c is gonna look like with some agressive cams, and high comp pistons.
now mai, start giving some people some technical help
hahaha.
oh, and btw, i think they are going to call it the s2200 and no longer s2000

Early reports only posted a 5 lb-ft torque increase. Hopefully all this means is they detuned the engine slightly. We all know how hard it is to make power on the s2000, maybe it'll be a different case with the s2200.

I don't know if that's good news. Also I would like to be 260 hp, cause 2.2 L @ 240hp is 1000rpm less. Have you heard anything about the torque?
