Need help with rims....
I found a set of rims that I like, the problem is, they are sold in sets of 4, so they are all 17 by 7, with a 42 offset. Will coming down in wideness kill my traction? And will they even fit/look right? Sorry if my proposition is ridiculous, I dont know anything about rims.

There are a number of people who have gone to uniform widths to get a wheel they like. You end up running staggered tire sizes to make up some of the difference. That being said, it still won't be the same as a true staggered setup. Unless you're just in love with the rims, my suggestion would be to hold off until you find a staggered set that you like.
Stagered meaning I can buy them in different sizes? The ones Im looking at are the Cyphers by ADR. I want them because people on s2ki.com say they hold up nicely, and they are cheap. Which is my main concern.

don't go non-staggard on the wheels.
don't think that staggaring the tires will off set the non-staggard wheels, it won't.
don't think that 42 offsets will work - at all. your S will look like an old rollerskate.
don't cheap out, especially on rims, even if they do hold up. most rims do hold up, and I'm not sure of any that have been claimed as not being able to hold up.
wait... wait... wait for the right wheels.

I agree wait until you find wheels that fit the S2000
As for powercoating, I've seen Duc from Spugens red S2000 with stocks powdercoated balck and thought it looked nice.
Also that guy from teamtoilet looks like he has red stocks on his white S2000 and I love how it looks.

powdercoating is fine. I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. actually I dig FLAT BLACK. if you get gloss black, which many have done, it can clash with the tire itself - if you are looking for fashion and something different that is. well, it's something to consider whatever you do. might as well get the valve cover painted the same when you do that - wouldn't be bad a flat black valve cover. and won't cost you but a few pennies more since it's done side by side.
since you've upgraded from the teg to an S, it's time you've also learned that:
your - possessive
you are = you're
=D
/end smartass remark, but stick it out until you find what you like. you don't have to get wrapped up into the being different category among S owners. but heck, I even did that with a Mugen spoiler, but mainly for the additional 200#'s of functional downforce which helps the rear from getting floaty >100 without a huge friggin wing on the back of a daily driver.

Just a comment on powdercoating... I've been looking to do so myself in the future when I get my wheels. I checked out Duc's wheels the other day and the powdercoating work looked very good. Prices are great too. $40 black per wheel. $50 for "other colors."

I just cant spray paint my rims, maybe itll work, but it may end up looking like, well, spray paint. I plan on finding a place in Tampa, so I can just drive up in the morning and have it done while driving back that night. Can it be done in a day? I plan on doing flat black, with my silver s2k w/ red interior and I may do a cf hood, think that would look good?

not sure what looks good or not. but I am not sure they will do it all in a day because of the dismount/mount process, drying process and not to mention... sandblasting and cleaning the wheels before the powder coating process. I could be wrong but I wouldn't count on it.

Regarding what shops to call - just call up a wheel shop a paint shop, anything. Just inquire if they do powder coating and if they don't who do they recommend if anyone? And if not... go to the next # down the list.
