Hey guys,

ITR guy with an S2K question. A buddy of mine is considering purchasing this S2K but is concerned about the rust on this engine part (Yellow circle).

What is this part and should the rust be of any concern?

Vtec solenoid. Test drive to see if Vtec works or not. ~$200 new from Honda.

all vtec solenoids have surface rust on them thats why they make covers for em if you want them pretty....

Not being a dick but as an ITR guy you should know what that is. Check to see if your ITR has the same rust. That might help you from a different perspective. All things being equal it's an easy fix if and only if that is the vehicles only problem.

 

^^ I didn't have the heart to call him out. I was thinking that every Honda person knew what a VTEC solenoid looked like tho.

A lot of kids around here don't know what a vtec soiliod is they just think if the valve covers says vtec then its fast

Did you know that's where the Vtec fluid goes?

 

beer cap of your choice makes a fun vtec solenoid cover..just pre-crump the wrinkles and press on, presto!

 

Yep, runs best on Sapporo.
