Default N/A setup help.

hey guys, i have some questions...
i am looking to go N/A with my soon to be S and was wondering what would be a good setup with ITB's? a Hytech exhuast and headersS? or an AMuse exhuast with hytech headers? or if not hytech headers cuz they might not fit wiht the amuse exhuast, what other header is good for that setup? money isn't a problem for me. just letting yyou guys know cuz i am sure somoene will say something about the money and prices. just wnat the most power gains i can get with the best setup. i am also looking at the weights of the items as well. i believe the dual amuse exhuast is about 15 lbs and the hytech is about 7lbs? not sure tho and was wondering if i get the amuse or hytech, do they have diff. size in pipping so if its a dual i dont lose power out of it cuz the pipping will be big and too much air flow if thats why you lose power. thanks guys!

you need engine management first, AEM EMS.

Toda headers make good gains across the board, mid and high, making a few more hp than mugen. I don't know about the amuse or hytech headers, haven't seen a dyno chart of either one.

If you're concerned about weight, don't look into detail about what aftermarket parts weigh, start ditching weight from inside the car, AC/heater core, soft top assembly, carpet, plastic trim pieces, etc etc etc.

You can't shower the car with $$$ and expect it to make power or go fast. You need to pick the right parts that work with each other and have a good tuner that can take advantage of what you have to tune.

What do you want out of the car? A street racing drag car? A show queen? A track car? a weekend car? daily driver? You don't want to daily drive the car on ITB's, and with the EMS, you'll lose emissions. So if you want a fast NA car for whatever you're planning on doing, strip it down since that's free then concentrate on what you're going to do with it, show off to your friends or race it legally in whatever series you plan on competing in.

well i dont realy have a certain goal such as track or show queen or nething i just want a nice setup running me in the mid 12's, not sure if N/A can get me there but hopeful, i konw SC and turbo and all but i want to konw if N/A is a possibility, as far as weight, i stiill want a nice car i dotn watn to strip it down so thats why some weight diff. on the exhuast or headers can make a slight diff. for me in choosing which part, and yes i am going with EMS for sure and prob. wiht i believ 4.57? or something like that i heard came out if not the 4.44 cuz the 4.77's are too close i thinik. as far as car goals i want an all around car, ima go with Tein RA's, a mid to low 12 sec car, Advan wheels with OEM lip as far as looks probably that should do it.

before you do all that and try to run mid 12's ... you need to realize that most tracks do not allow convertible cars to run under 14.0 in the 1/4 mile without a roll bar.

This really put a dampner on me modding my S cause I wanted to compete in a class called Comp4 where street tires and no motor swaps allowed but can't run under 14.0 when the fastest cars int he class (an ITR) runs 13.8's ... this suks. I'm also not gonna get a roll bar just for that. Trying to see if other ways around this like a hardtop ... thats even expensive.

before you start mod'ing, find that goal of yours otherwise you're shooting in the dark. You can achieve mid 12's NA, but the car will have to be lightened and stripping the interior as well as AC and other units will be required. If you don't want to do that, go FI.
