Picked up my white / red 00 tonight

Ill post pics this week..

Few Questions-
Any perks with the red interior? i.e. value compared to a black set.
Almost 100k miles, anything in specific I should do for maint?
It has infinity front speakers, but its still 'stale', what are our best options under 500 ?

Is 87 or 89 octane okay? ever?

red interior is rare, however i do not think the value is higher. A lot of people arn't a fan of the all red. Also, there is not much you can do with the stereo. I would recomment getting headunit for starters. I just invested in the roll hoop speaker mounts off ebay and they do wonders

 

^^^ agreed - i have infinity kappa components in there, and with an Alpine headunit, they sound pretty damn good. approx 7 x better than the Honda effort. maybe 8.

 

i have an alpine hu but shitty pioneer and sony components...having 4 speakers def helps though, and the infinity sub in the trunk

 

i sold my sub when i bought the S - took one look at the boot (trunk for you foreigners) and thought: no.

 

i have a white with blk and red interior personally all red is to much for me but... as far as 87 89 shouldnt of bought the car unless your willing to put in 91/93

from the car in his signature he should no this very well being a previous owner of a high compression motor. i think hes just excited because he just got his s2k and wanted to share his happiness. i know im excited and i havent bought mine yet

Red interior is very rare and absolutely will drive the price of the car up if you have it posted for sale in the right market. However, he has a 2000 so his interior is not all red. It's probably red/black which is very common and will not increase the value of the car at all.

It's just like any other Honda, check your FSM for maintenance schedules. I would recommend changing all the fluids right away, especially the diff fluid.

Get an aftermarket headunit and a modifry DCI first to see what kind of sound you get. The factory HU's in the 00-01's really suck as do the factory speakers. Then look into a component set with some tweeters. You may also want to consider 02-03 door panels with the tweeter mounts.

You can get by running 89 but I never recommend it.
