Just because our cars CAME NA doesn't mean you can say thats an "NA setup"

Putting intake/header/exhaust is not an "NA setup" either

Bolting on a greddy turbo kit is not a "Turbo setup" in my mind either.
its how you spend your money that makes it a good set up.

The setup from inline in question was a 2.7L Bottom end that had a Stock head, Stock intake manifold and stock throttle body. Made 315 . .
Obviously there is a lot more in that . .

my NA 89.5 x 99 f20c build will be done in a few weeks. Should easily make over 300whp on a stock head. . .

Just will be in FWD trim . . .

A 300+whp All Motor S2000 would be an absolute blast to drive.

yes it would , i would take a 300whp N/a S2k over a 300whp FI setup anyday .

if you compare a dyno graph of a 300whp FI vs. 300whp NA. the graph would look totally different except for the peak whp. NA would only have 300whp on the top end between 8k-8.5k rpm. where as in the turbo, depending on the turbo and boost controller used, you can paint a torque curve how ever you want. you can use an electronic boost controller to make 300whp from 4k rpm all the way up to 9k rpm. the only advantage NA has is lighter weight without the turbo parts.

if you're only comparing peak numbers, then you're not looking at the whole picture.

a lot of people dont understand that. My power levels out at 7K so nothing really changes from to 9k. If you did lose to a 300 horse all motor s2000 and you had a turbo s2000 you also also just turn your boost up. The other thing is what is the chance of running into a 300 horse all motor s2000?

horse power alone does not win the race. torque is also important. look at the Audi LMP1 cars with TDI engines. they make 600hp but also 1050 Newton Meters (~775 lb-ft) and they clean the field, compare to the Acura LMP1 v8 wich makes 620hp and 370 lb-ft. turbo can provide massive torque that NA can't.

a 300 whp n/a vs a 300 whp turbo/ s/c car would not win in a strait line, the torque is going to be greater on the FI car so in turn will win... torque baby. thats why a 300 whp FI feels so much faster because the torque throwing you back

but the throttle crispness of a all motor is exhilarating and the war scream coming out of the car...

but then again a turbo car with an open waste gate is like a symphony all under your hood

Where does all this freakin turbo talk come from? Who gives a crap that a properly setup turbo engine will be able to run .05 seconds faster....that should be the least of your concerns. The fact that you suck *** at driving or that your chassis isnt setup for **** should be a much larger one.

where did you come from queer mo' people have question and we answer them

it all depends on what you want... some people dont build a car for being fast on a track they just build them to say ya i make x amount of power to all the tiny bopers in the parking lots

obvious your just a hater because you suck at driving and lost to a saturn

.05 seconds faster? I think its harder driving my 320 wheel horse compared to when it was 200 wheel horse.

I'm talking about comparing 300whp NA vs 300whp Turbo....driver ability and chassis setup is more important to one going faster then the other rather then the difference in the engines. Again, we're talking about racing, so anything under 6k doesnt make much difference as the engine wont be below that rpm.

The difference in driving a 200whp car vs 300whp is a big difference, just like the difference in my Integra vs my S2k. If you want easy to drive, go buy an auto and drag race it....I've found that to be super easy.

wow this thread has jumped between 5 different topics . i was simply looking for the highest hp N/a built S2k ,and any first hand experience with a High Cr setup . i don't want the thread to be a boost vs N/a argument because there are so many different variables to that equation i just want to see some N/a setups done correctly and opinions on there driveability and or power figures . parts/spec list would be nice too.

I will have a fairly high hp NA motor built next summer. Me and Honda Kyle will have a friendly race. Assuming he still has his car.

We will report back.

i would think that a 300whp NA F20 is not going to be that friendly to drive daily. you would need a stroked engine, huge compression (high octane gas), huge cams, ITBs (hard to tune), free low exhaust (loud).

well with E85 being available more and more places you would think you would see more high compression applications being built . But it seems to me more boosted drivers are taking advantage of the higher octane fuel then N/a drivers .

No 300whp NA wouldnt be friendly to drive daily.

But neither would 800whp FI

not all E85 is made equal.

With the FI you would adjust you power levels for what your using your car for.

what do you mean by this comment ? i'am still learning about E85 is why i ask . there is alot of guys over in the F/I forum running big numbers daily driving with it and have nothing but positive remarks pertaining to it . So do u mean the process of making the fuel is different or do u mean octane varies from batch to batch?

People are cheap to go NA... It all boils down to personal preference.

300 hp all motor would be hella fun!

The ethanol content changes each time. You have to find a place that will give you a consistant batch.

There is both winter and summer blend . Winter blend is closer to 70% ethanol content.

All you really need to do is check the mixture, its not really that hard. You can buy an electronic tester for a few hundred or you can do it very easily with 2 graduated cylinders. Search for threads I have created. There is one in the Drag forum where in it shows how to test the e85 content
