Intakes
Does anyone here have any of the following:
Spoon Sports intake duct

J's Racing intake duct

Backyard Special air intake panel
http://www.bulletproofautomoti...D=289
Garage Defend radiator cooling plate
http://www.bulletproofautomoti...D=235
heard good and bad about the last two, only good on the first two just looking for some other opinions.

I don't personally have any of the above intakes but I have done some reading on them. I have yet to hear someone complain about the spoon intake (other than it's price). The J's intake requires cutting of the hood as it is similar in design to the Mugen intake.
As for the two cooling panels they are most likely designed for RHD cars so they probably will not fit exactally right without some coaxing. I have an ARC Ti radiator panel which is similar to these panels and it required some minor tweaking to get it to fit.

It looks like the "channel" gets awfully skinny in one of the bends, can any one confirm this? And wouldnt this result in power loss?

i doubt it loses power...most owners who have it say you can feel a little more punch when the car is already at a certain speed(meaning highway pulls) . it does not make as much power as a intake such as the injen and aem designs

Anyone think the ebay intake would be worth while? I talked to a few people and they say you cant just copy the Spoon one to make power, you have to have proper harmonic flow or some hibbidy jibbidy.

The title was intakes. I was trying to give him another option, because there is no reason to pay a bunch of money for all that jdm stuff when you can get a nice comptech carbon fiber intake that produces pretty good power and great throttle response. I think it was the best thing we did for our s. I guess I could of expanded more but you don't need to be a smartass.
I have the Spoon airduct and didnt notice anything really until I added exhaust/header/vafc 2. I also did over 100 pounds of weight reduction as well. As far as the others are concerned, the Js I believe gives the same gain (if any) as the Mugen or Spoon duct. The prices are high on some of the intakes.
Heres mine about a month ago..

Also to the last post, what did you do to remove a hundred pounds?

You name it. At a couple of shows ago I had only one Spoon seat vs two stock seats. My hole trunk was gutted including softop (although I put it back when I installed the cage) and all the spare tire crap. I was running Spoon wheels, brakes, real Js hood, etc. A few other parts here and there. At one point the car was gutted but now everything is back together.
Cool, thanks for replying! How did u like it when it was gutted? It probably felt really different huh? The car FEELS light to me stock, it must have been awesome with 100 less lbs!
its an MG-Racing intake
was a few made for production. it grabs air from underneath the car instead of infront (where like the spoon you have to crimp the intake to have it clear the frame) and shoots it straight up to the filter.
wonderful for the highway. there have been reports of gaining 12HP to the wheels at speed. ive tried the spoon and aem, there is no comparison. this intake i find is much better
not cheap though, and very hard to find. on s2ki.com there is a group buy for a copy of this intake right now

nope, it's not a copy. it's through the same manufacturer, but they're "tweeking" it.
