I'm convinced
That the s2000 is the worst car ever made by Honda. I've had problems from day one of owning the car. Now after 6 months I want to drive it off a cliff. Yes, I know some problems are because I drive the car hard "sometimes". I just can't understand how I can constantly beat the **** out of my civic with a motor swap for 2 years prior the s2000. Yet, nothing major breaks due to the violent constant racing of all types invovled. I drove the hatch daily with almost no problems, and if it was it wasn't major. The s2000 however just seems to fall apart, clutch, axle, bearing, hub, rotor, and now I fear the tranny is about to give in. I'm forced to trade this car in before I am forced to buy a diff or tranny. I'm sorry guys i'm out for good this time.
i've heard stories that because the s2k is able to shift gears without stepping on the clutch, once already in gear, it slowly destroys the tranny over long periods of doing this.(previous owner?)
maybe this is why your tranny is t3h suck.

or maybe this is why the tranny just sucks.</TD></TR></TABLE>
First of all, the s2000 transmission doesn't suck. Mine works perfectly fine, and it is known for being one of the best production transmissions ever made. "the gearbox is quite simply the best in the world". I met someone who had an s2000 and sold it for a Porsche 911, and he said that the S2000 transmission felt better shifting then the Porsche transmission.

Second, no one should shift w/out stepping on the clutch.
The problems were most likely caused by the previous owner.

Here you say "I've had problems from day one of owning the car."
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out guys.

Well, it is unfortunate that YOUR case was of this nature, but i can assure you, you are in very small company when it comes to people that share your same view of the car...in fact, besides you i have NEVER read people talk about the car like you did, which tells me a few things...the S2000 you bought was in bad condition to begin with and you abused it without realizing the consequences...AND, your quick to judge comment about the car being the "worst car honda ever made" kinda shows alot too.
Anyways...i can assure you nobody really cares here, i can certainly understand frustration with a car that doesnt hold up well, but honestly, to say its the worst car honda ever made and the car is unreliable...its closed minded, stereotypical and silly.
Again...dont let the door hit ya. Just out of curiosity, werent you on here whining about your S2000 about 3 months ago...saying the same "Im out" deal? lol...whats taking so long?

funny i have owned my S for a year now and the previous owner used the car daily up to 47k miles. The odometer now reads 68k and i drive it daily. Ask anyone who knows me and i "drive it like i stole it" sometimes. I have never had a problem with my car nor did the previous owner. Dont blame the car when the previous owner failed to care for the car. Previous owner

It came from Brookyln should've told me something. My friend who also has a silverstone s2000 has had more problems than me. That includes the engine failure for unknown reasons. He is also unhappy about his car and wishes to get rid of it.
Anyways, best wishes to all who keep their cars.

I agree. The only "problem" I've ever had with my s2k is the infamous "clunk" when shifting from 1st to 2nd on cold starts. That's it.

hasn't s2k been the motor trend car of the year in its category since day one?
you just got a lemon man, this is an amazing car, and it sucks that you don't feel that way...

I just have to say, after reading your thread a few times now...(and forgive the bluntness of this, i have nothing against you personally) but this just seems to be a way for you to seem more "against the grain" and for attention's sake, get some spotlight on yourself and your situation. Again, i dont know you at all, and i dont really care why you do or dont like your cars...but given the previous statements, your quick judgement on this car as being something as silly as "worst car honda ever made" i mean really...
Anyways, again, sell your car, let someone that will enjoy it have it, i'd hate to think that this car is sitting in the garage of someone that truely doesnt enjoy driving it when they get in it...and thats not to say that only people that love it should be able to have one, i certainly dont think or care who owns them, but to me, if its that bad of a car, you hate it that much (and from what ive read, you have for quite sometime now)...just sell it man, quit telling us how much the car that 99% of us love ALOT, sucks. I couldnt disagree with you more...i actually think that the motor in these cars are one of the best ever built in ANY car (and i know alot of people, including alot of engineers agree)...the car itself is what many consider to be a PURE sports car (roadster, front engine/rwd platform, 2 seater, the lines of the car...they all just define "sports car" in my own opinion atleast).
But alas, im not trying to push my opinion on you...i just think its absurd to sit there and say "THis car sucks *****, its one of the worst cars ever made, what a piece of ****" just because you bought a used one that wasnt cared for (by either you or the previous owner) you beat the **** out of it and abused it, and now when its showing the battle scars, your ready to kick it to the curb.
Whatever...its all good...different strokes for different folks.

if it bothers you that much, sell it. no point in not being happy. my S has yet to brake on me and I by no means do i treat it nicely (track days and such)

It's on clear nights when I walk out of a place with my girl. I look at my car sitting under the lights, and I think damn that is a sexy *** car.
I decided to keep it once again, and wham the axle ordeal. Okay, I still wanted to keep the car, but now 1st gear doesn't want to enguage just simply rolling, and reverse it feels like the car is in a bind.
Okay, I would keep the car, but I just can't afford to buy major mechanical parts for the car when it's 4 years old. Warranty work is almost none exsistent because they scream abuse.
Sorry if it seems like I want attention i'm just venting. Just maybe someone will see this, and decide not to buy the car on just thoughts.

I wonder why they scream abuse when you talk of wondering why the car can't stand the abuse that is your driving like your motor swap civic did?
I just blew my own mind.
