I know, company name is Hypertech, the rest is just goofy namin.

Anyway, the gains for the s2k are not great on high end but does increase the low end torque. The peak gains on their dyno in the magazine article are only about 5-6HP on top end, with an a intake, new ignition coils and the programmer but they got more more low end torque, around 20HP.

I already have the K&N FIPK and adding the coils would be easy. Just wanted to know if anyone used the programmer. Hyypertech makes many different ones for various cars, Mazda folks like them as do the Nissan folks reading some opinions from other groups.

What seems good is that it will save your original mapping and then you make the changes you want. To put it back to your original just plug it back in and reupload your original settings.

If it can reprogram your ECU it must be for 2006 and newer S2000s as they are the ones with ECUs that can be reflashed.

If you are looking for a reflash then I would suggest Hondata's FlashPro before the Hypertech one. They have more experience dealing with Hondas, again these solutions only work if you have a 2006 and newer S2000.

I was looking at the FlashPro as well. Finding a shop where I live that would do a good job may be a problem. I'll have to call around. Somewhere that would do a good job for me may be an hour or 3 away.

It takes me an hour just to drive to an interstate.

You don't need a computer the Hypertech just plugs into your obd port and it will do the programming itself.

Only downsides are finding a shop with a dyno so can check how the tuning is doing. I've done a baseline so I'll have to compare with changes in the future.

Ah so you are going to just use whatever they have loaded in the thing when they send it to you. Would be interested to see what it does as every car is a little different, even if the car is completely stock. Once you throw in mods all bets are off.

I still think if you have the money to go to a dyno you should pay for a tune with Hondata FlashPro, instead of using a generic reflash.
