Default How is the S2K for a DD

Is it practical for daily driving at all? Im not talking about the lack of backseats but how do you feel about driving it daily in traffic and etc.

Im looking for a DD and it's between an RSX and an S2k.
i dont plan to drag, autox, or any other type of competitive automotive events. I just want a clean and comfortable daily driven car.

my commute is 80ish miles per day and although i am looking for a second car, its definitely not the S2000's fault. id just like to put less miles on the S.

I bought my S as a daily, and I absolutely love it. However I would warn that its not a luxury sedan, its not quite so plush and full of options, if one doesnt completely enjoy the thrill of driving and owning an S, then it might be worth looking at other options. Overall I would say its very driveable, clearance doesn't seem to be an issue, rides fairly nicely. As far as traffic I don't have major traffic, but stop and go is similar to owning other vehicles with a manual, not bad. There is some noise, but i believe it adds to the experience of owning such a car.

And to say between the S2K and an RSX, the RSX would probably be a more comfortable choice, but it wouldn't have the same ability to turn you on everytime you go for a drive lol and the S2K turns a lot of heads, and gets a lot of compliments.

S2k as a DD is great, decent MPG, you wont leave junk in your car becuase of the lack of room, you'd be people's last resort for a ride, biatches love the S2k

S2k for DD is good....especially 06+ AP2. For DD I would recommend Clazzio seat covers to avoid seat wear and make sure to treat the top with UV protectant often

I daily my AP1. Coming from a modified Prelude it's decent. It doesn't have the low end power of my modified H22 and it's a six-speed, so it feels like you constantly shift but I don't mind it. Everything else about the car is better than the Prelude. The suspension and power(once the RPM's are up) are both better. But the driving feel alone makes it the nicest car I've driven by a long shot.

This type of question is obv always going to be just peoples personal opinions. mine is > Its a great car to drive a few times a week and ofcourse the weekend cruiser but not as a job traveling, grocery getter. its one of hondas most gas consuming 4 cylinders, it just REVS way too high, to keep it at a reasonable RPM you have to drive 63-65 mph (worries of wearing out rod bearings at constant high rpm i understand they are well balanced motors but be my guest and take that chance if you want.) -and im talking about everyday 80 mph freeway driving at almost 5k rpm

I race my s2k at tracks, I drive it atlast a few times a week and always drive it on weekends, but it is definetly not a every trip daily driver atleast for me. never the less tho its def a way better car then a RSX my opinion, not only faster and better handling but looks and all that, after all RSX is just an integra... s2000 is hondas first convertible roadster of the modern day

s2k> rsx all day value and everything.

I have hauled 400lbs of dry mortar mix in the trunk, carried 12 insulated pot light housings and all my tools to do electrical renovations lol and commuted 1000+km a week for work so I'd say it's a good dd/utility/track car.

I also daily mine and it makes my commute much more enjoyable. The car gives you the vibe that it just wants to play! So far I've managed to stay out of trouble with all the spirited driving I do =]

My S2000 gets 24+MPG around town, has enough room for me to sit in comfortably, has A/C, has power steering, rides just fine, has low maintenance costs, and is good for atleast 200+k miles.

What exactly makes it NOT a good DD? If you're spoiled into thinking it's not good for daily driving because you think you NEED heated seats, heated mirrors, NAV, a squishy ride, and a non-removeable roof for some reason, look elsewhere. If you're a too big to fit, look elsewhere. If you need more than 2 seats, look elsewhere. If you regularly need more than 5.5 cubic feet of trunk space because you're too big to fit and you need to buy a lot of groceries, look elsewhere.

I have recaro pole positions and coilovers. I'm driving it from chicago to L.A. in august. I'm 5'11, 180LBS, 32 waist, very attractive, am an aries, and have many talents. I fit just fine. The car has enough room for me and my ego (barely).

Incorrect. If the U.V. rays are out, the sun is out and it's a nice day. On a nice day, the top should be down. U.V. protectant for what?

more torque across all rpm range, 06+ have stability control, ap2 suspension is a bit softer (i think), plus many other goodies (rear defroster, glass rear window, better audio, etc..) ap2 is also more reliable then ap1.

U.V protectant for the top..when its parked in a Drive Way, Work, at the Beach, and on the Street. You better not leave your ride on my block with the top down, while you're not in site, your seats will be in an EG down the streets by the time you notice. Oh and being Attractive really does make it a better commuter car, nobody wants to see a busted mug in a nice S.

UV rays are out even when sun is not out....and i personally dont like to sweat at 100+ with top down. 95+ is when i usually turn AC on.

The AP2 is not any more reliable than the AP1. Get your facts straight.
