Default head unit and side controls

i have an 01 s2k and the stereo sucks as you all know. i want to upgrade the head unit but i dont want to loose the outside controls on the dash!!! are you able to put in an after market head unit and still keep the controls functional???

Modifry makes a DCI so that you can use the side controls with an aftermarket deck.

if you are looking for a new headunit that work perfect with the side controllers using the DCI, i will go with alpine ... i'm going to get the alpine 9857 .. nice headunit.

i have a Alpine as well....
but you have to install the kits that are used for cars with audio controls on teh steering wheel and they can program it to our controls.

honestly i should not have got it i never use it... i guess its a personal thing

aren't those modifry things like 100+? anyone know if i can pull out that source button and replace it with a 52mm gauge?
