Default Hardtop

What's the story with getting a Hardtop for the S2K? Is Honda still selling them? I don't see them on their site and handa says it's unavailable?

find a used one. they are too much cash new. HTG will sell you one with all the hardware for 2500$ plus shipping. great deal, but i couldnt afford it. i had to buy a used one.

They are on backorder until March 23rd according to our Honda representative.

It's usually a four to six week turnaround to get one once you order it.

it might actually be more then 4 to 6 weeks right now.. supposidly the factory that they contracted it out to in japan burned down or something so honda was looking for a new contractor. i'm not sure if they found one yet or not.... most places dont' have these tops anymore...... there is going to be a waiting list....

Do most people go with the Honda top? I know Mugen makes a top also? Is that it? (Lol, other than that fugly stretched top I've seen on racing S2k's.)

mugen top is 3k for fiberglass or 5k for the CF one (not including shipping). its really up to you. the oem would cost you less than 3k and its painted in your car color where as the mugen fiberglass is not

seibon and mugen have smaller glass windows than the oem one. actually, i believe the seibon doesn't even have a glass window. i think its plexiglass.

get oem, unless you want the bling factor.

I'm in love with the mugen CF hardtop but if you don't want to pay out the ***, I'd go with hardtopguy or if you're lucky you can find a used OEM one. I'm just going to see if I can find a good deal and if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.. ha

I feel like it's seldom come by to find a used hard top in the color you need unfortunately

We normally stock 25-50 hardtops. As you all know the plant in japan burnt down. They are back up now i believe making tops. We got a silverstone last week so they are shippin slowly to certain places. They wont be mass shipping TOPS until there inventory in Japan is up to par. but expect us to be fully ready to roll with tops within 2 months!
