Default GTECH???

has anyone used the GTECH SS? i have one i used in my civic and it worked fine, i tried moving it to my S and the shift lights will not work. around 7500 to 8000 one of them will flash then it acts like im not reving any more when im still on the gas. is it a problem with my gtech or could it be vtec messing it up?

hp and tq was usually what it was said to be according to honda and the shiftlights always worked right which was the main reason i bought it. i dont care about anything but the shift lights in the S.

RPM/Shiftlight and timing features work great for me. Don't bother with the dyno function though.

I use the autometter DPIC. It's really accurate and has a lot of driving dynamic metrics. Try one!!!

project22a and silverdc did you both use them in the s2000 or something with lower redline? i tried moving the calibration to 8000 last night instead of 6500. it wont really let me calibrate, it keeps going to the "how many cylinders" and "after market ignition" part then i have to try to find out where my rpm's are out on the -/32 thing.

I'm thinking it says "aftermarket ignition" because we have coil-on-plugs vs. the normal distributor ignition.

its an option, it doesnt tell you if you have one or not. i had the k20 in the civ so it was coil packs. it says ex: jocobs and i think msd is on the list too. i called gtech just a moment ago and he says that getting a light plug from any auto parts store and tappin into the altenator power wire will help pick up signal and also to try some calibrating in different ways; such as changing where i calibrate to and turning on the defroster and headlights causing the altenator to work a little more and increase the signal.

Unfortunately, I've only used it on my Prelude. I'll put in my s2k tonight and see if I have any problems.

Works fine for me. I have a different GTECH Though. I have the older GTECH Pro Comp. (Black housing with blue screen) and upgraded to RR firmware.
