In my opinion it is unnecessary. I think Honda did everything necessary to eliminate electrical noise in their original design. I have Phoenix 475 Ti and Zenon 600.1 amps in my car and I have never had any issue with noise or static. It has been much easier installing high end audio in the S than many other cars I have owned
