i think i am going to get the hard dog theyre not as expensive as i thought.....as for the install has any one done it and if so do you have pics
500ish dollars. Think about it this way. How much is your life worth? I dont think you will need the roll bar though. What are you going to be using your S2000 for?
mostly getting the roll bar cause my grandma is helping me get the car but as its a convertible she doesnt think its that safe....it didnt help that the dealer said he has an extra f20c in his home garage that he took out of a s2000 that some kid rolled and got killed in....mostly using the car for street use maybe try to find a track near my area not planning on street racing though cause its a beautiful car and i wouldnt want to see impounded or totaled

Having an aftermarket rollbar can be more dangerous, especially having a 6 pt. You risk hitting your head in the event of an accident.
On s2ki there is a accident picture thread. That should prove how save the car is, especially compared to other vehicles. The windshield support is much stronger then a miata, solstice, or other roadsters.

Do you want style or safety? I have a hardog in my SC'ed miata, but am considering a newer S2000, as the miata is a 96, and showing it's age. My DD is a MS3, so I'm looking for a track car/autox/ fun car for myself and son, with the wife not even wanting to get into a sports car. Roll bars can be deadly, if your head smacks into it. At least, get some real SFI padding, rock hard, but energy absorbing to a degree. Have you seen the harddog (bethaniagarage.com) gallery of rolled cars? You might just learn something.
slow_eddie, attempting to learn about S2000, and how easy it would be to install a good bar, real racing shells, and 5/6 point harnesses.

In the event of a DD accident this poses more harm than good. You should never be putting yourself in a position in which you can roll a s2000 on the street, just don't drive like a dumbass.
s2000's have rollbars stock, the hoops behind the seats are the rollbars, as long as your head sits below the top of the rollbar and you were your seatbelt, that should more then enough for a street car, and normal accidents
just dont act like a douchbag an do 100mph on backroads an drive your car off a cliff and youl be fine
only get a rollbar if you also plan to get a fied back seat, 5 point harneses, run approved padding an wear a helmet when you drive
aftermarket rollbars in street cars are dangerous, they intrude into the passenger compartment, in an accident you never stay still, and you have a far greater chance if hitting your head or another part of your body

In a crash your body stretches, My head sits 2 inchs under the roll bar. Something else is that the S2000 will dig into the street, grass or dirt maybe a .5 of a inch or maybe 2 inches. my head would be all over the place. but then again if you dont drive like a dick, you probably wont roll.
