From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
It's lowered and has hideous fog lights on it from an EK.
Since it's been lowered and has some miles on it, listen for any clunking sounds from the suspension. Could indicate bad bushings. Most people don't know you have to clock bushings when you change ride heights or take apart suspensions. If not clocked. the bushings tear. On a S2000, torn bushings seem to be a really shitty situation.
Besides that...if it runs good and doesn't smoke/burn excessive oil, you'll be fine for another 100k atleast.

when i test drove it i didnt hear any strange noises from motor or any where else...they just put a new top....i think but not sure if it has a glass rear window...read somewhere 03s did....it doesnt smoke sounds pretty good and its running 10-30 royal purple full synthetic with a royal purple filter
hahaha hell yea ima take good care of it....ive taken care of my civic since ive owned it.... planning on putting a rollbar on it just so my parents think its safer hahaha
It has factory roll hoops, and they are functional. The windshield frame acts as a protective barrier from rollover as well, although it's not as strong.
Look at the Miata, for reference. They don't have these features.
Good find, though.

Eh, at 16 get something more age-appropriate. While I'm not trying to say you're immature or can't afford it, I am saying that have you really asked yourself if you want to drive that and park it at your high school?
Can you afford to make the car payments and insurance on your own without your parent's help?
Personally, I'm glad I waited until after college to buy a 'nice' car, you don't have to worry as much about door dings and vandalism. If your top gets slashed and seats stolen what are you going to do?
*edit* Not too mention it has higher mileage and has been modified, not a car I'd be buying for myself.

Just to let you know the S is not a low cost car on maintenance. It can get pricey to do routine stuff so make sure you factor that into your budget. Tires alone can cost you over $500 and that is for mid level tires. If you demand high performance rubber expect to pay closer to $700. The S has a staggered wheel setup so you can't simply rotate the tires to get more life out of them. Being that the car has higher mileage I imagine a lot of the maintenance stuff is going to start popping up, like the clutch.
i dont really have to worry about smog or engine parts my dads brother owns a shop and if i need parts he'll give me like a stage 1 or 2 clutch forged internals anything i need for the price of the stock 1 labor included....im not going to be driving it to school because my towns ghetto as f%#k.i had 2 twelves in my civic used special screws for the subs in the box and mounted the amp down to the seat and somebody still stole all my audio equipment...so i am not planning on driving it to school....and i have a job and we figured the payments are about 2 to 3 hundred a month if we go for 4 years.theyre putting the car in their name and their insurance with me no where on it so the rates arent high but im still going to pay the insurance
it was either get the s2k or trade my civic for a 89 crx si that has a turbo pushing 15 pounds.....it has a b20 block its set up for racing paints all primer black back windows spray painted black all the front tinted 5% even the windshield and the car is well known by the cops in my town
i know it is the steerings more touchy brakes more touchy the gas is deffinately more touchy hahaha.....its a pretty easy car to drive when i test drove it i drove for about a mile took several turns the shifting is real smooth clutch still seems good...i havent drove alot of built hondas but ive been in them and they dont seem to perform like the S the civic lx was just a car to get around not really power at all under the hood without a swap
So someone stole subs from your metal trunk, and now you're getting a convertible with a soft top that has seats that get stolen like candy.
Glad you thought this impulse buy through
*edit*
And the seats stolen + top slashed generally totals out the older S2000s. So hopefully you have more than just liability.

no were gonna put full coverage its not an everyday driver and honda civics especially the 95s are the easiest cars to steal from they took a screwdriver and hammer to the door lock and the white plastic clip on the actual lock broke so then it was a matter of just opening the door
you sound like you've thought things through OP, but listen to these guys regarding your age and this car. It's not crazy powerful etc., but it is 50/50 rear wheel drive that will snap out on you. Drive it steady for a while in a safe environment. I **** you not.
The only reason people on here are a bit upset with young kids buying these, is because 3 months later there is usually a thread about the 'snap oversteer' or whatever they choose to call their bad driving habits, and how to get new parts, and there's been plenty of much worse threads.

yea.......i feel for what the guys on here are saying about a young owner i would feel the same way but i know how i drive and how i take care of cars.....im planning on leaving stock stereo and other stuff like that probabally not getting a rollbar after doing some research....if i do end up using it as an everyday im definately gonna save up and get a nice hardtop for it i know theyre around $3000 but itll be well worth it

.... take good care of it !
