Default engine question..

hello,

i have a question about a 'bar' that runs accross and over the engine.... hard to describe, but most modified cars have it... what is it's purpose, what is it called?

are there any advantages in having it? if so, why are they not in the S2000?

many thanks
ALex

it's called a front upper strut bar, or front upper stableizer bar...

the S doesn't need it cause there's another bar already there under the stock intake that people can't see.... so a strut bar on an S is all for bling....

I have noticed a great difference with the addition of both a strut bar and the comptech x-brace on my S2000. Worth it if you plan on any touge or track use.

The spare is behind the upper right cover in the trunk. There is a couple pull tabs and vola it is exposed. Since I don't know. You own an S2000 right? Also how long have you had it? I got another noob question for you. Do you know where the secret compartment is? The one inside the car between the seats and no it isn't just the one that is with the key. Just so you know I had the car two months before I knew it was there. AHAH the fun with a new car and being a noob. Join the crowd and hope you enjoy the car as much as the rest of us. No pun inteaded with the noob either. I am not serious just kidding a little. K?

The strut bar doesnt do much at all. On the S its just for looks. Its the X brace that youll feel the handling difference with.

cheers for the spare tyre info frxtc! and for the 'secret compartment' - i dont have the car YET, in mid august is when i arrive in america, but i've been searching, and have found loads of options...

my choice of colour would be silverstone, with the black/red interior. it just looks so sporty when compared to just the black, but the black is nice as well, both exterior and interior.

anyway, REVHI, this X BRACE you talk about, would one obtain this and install it on a 100% stock car? or is it if you start modifying your car?

cheers!

No offense, but I think you should get the car first and THEN ask questions, as most of your questions could've been answered by spending an hour with the car.

the xbrace makes the most difference on a stock car.... one you've done other suspension mods, dropping it, sway bars, yada yada.. the xbrace somewhat becomes unnoticeable....

Its getting rather silly the amount of people that want to hop on the S2000 wagon, even if they dont drive one, just to feel like a part of the crowd. Jeeez. I said it once and i'll say it again..."Too many "Gonna get", not enough "Have".

Yeah, but then again, what would you do with all that extra free time on this board?

&lt;-- agrees 100%, not only with the S2k's, but ITR's, NSX's, GT2's, etc etc...

Hey maybe we should all go to the NSX forum and be like "<U>Someday</U> I <U>might</U> be able to <U>almost</U> afford an NSX, where is the dipstick?"

look m8,

put yourself in my shoes, do you honestly think i signed on this forum for fun, so i could just annoy all of you by asking you questions that i might be able to answer myself if i was the car for just an hour? i know for a fact i will be getting the car, hence why i'm here, and hence why i've been posting frequently, given the amount of time i've been here.

instead of being so pessimistic, may i suggest that you lighten up a bit? perhaps next time you could say, 'aw, look at that n00b, he can't wait to get the car, so he's asking us questions (which we can very easily answer - but nonetheless) - how cute'
