Default Engine Cleaning

I was just wondering what you guys use to clean up your engine bay and the engine itself.

P21s autowash, tooth brushes, regular brush, couple of rags, degreaser if necessary.

i try not to use degreasers because they usually leave a nasty smell on the engine bay, if you decide to use a degreaser try using one with some type of "smell' added to it, to hide some of the strong chemical odors.

besides that, hot water, soap, brushes and maybe some brake cleaner to get the heavier grease out.

i have used this before and it worksok, plus it doesn't leave a bad smell:

i put a plastic bag around the alternator, distributor, and battery. Then hose the engine bay down with ORANGE BRIGHT ENGINE CLEANER. then after letting it sit, spray down engine with water hose. Remove plastic bags. use NO TOUCH tire cleaner spray to get a really even clean shine on all your hoses and black plastic. close the hood, let the engine run for 5 mins and you get something like this:

bought both products at autozone or advance i think

Get some CD2 i think it is from the local auto store. it has a degreaser and a detailer mixed in it. its made for engine cleaing. when I worked at a detail shop all we did was spray it down with degreaser, leave the enigne running and use a high pressure hose to rinse everything off. be careful if you have an intake, also keep the hose moving constantly.
