Default engine check light?

hey i was wondering about my engine check light that just popped on. the car is bone stock only thing it has is sounds and a d2 supension.....

well first off my maintance required light has been poppin off and off whenever i started my car and it goes away after 20 seconds. i did and oil change at 93k miles and now its 94450 miles and i never did reset my maintance check light.

i was wondering if thats why my engine check light came on? oil levels, coolant, abs, break fluids are all good i was wondering if its because of that or sensor but it all looks good under the hood???thanks..... and if u guys think its safe to drive...

Go to autozone and pick up an OBD-II scanner; it's free, you just put down a deposit (~$175 or so), and when you return it they'll credit all the funds back to your account. The connector to plug it into the car is located under the dashboard on the passenger side. Check the code and then let us know what the problem is

Just because everything "looks good under the hood" doesnt mean something cant be bad under there. Something, maybe a sensor, could be potentially failing and will at some point.

Get your car scanned with OBDII scanner, read the code, and go from there. If everything checks out fine, just reset the maintenance required light and drive

Question is is the check engine light Blinking or is it solid?

Also in California I guess by law they can't check your code for you for free anymore. Its pretty stupid and Auto zone doesn't rent out their scanner anymore either.
