Default Discussion: Trans/Diff/Motor Fluids

Ok so I am just a little curious

What Fluids are recommended for the S2K's Transmissions and differentials
And how often should they be replaced

I Use:
Transmission Fluid - Redline MT-90
Diff Fluid - Mobil 1 75w-90
Motor oil - Honda 10w-30 (aka Mobil 1)

What Fluids do you use?

I believe thers TON of info on S2kI, but i thought we can discuss...

Well that’s you, then.

I personally buy it from the dealer.
But that’s because my buddy works at the parts counter, so i get a little homie hook up.

Not sure if there’s a difference in price, but that’s the only reason why I wouldn’t buy it from the dealer

I used to use Mobil 1 10w30, but right now I am using Royal Purple 10w30.

RP is ok, I might switch back to Mobil.

For my tranny I use GM Syncromesh Friction Modified.

For my diff I use the Amasol sae90

you missed my sarcasm.

theres no way honda oil is mobil1 synthetic. just because is made by exxonmobil company, doesnt mean anything. exxon also makes really crappy conventional oil as well. kinda like honda oil filters made by fram....

i know this is a bit off the subject, but people claim the s2k oem oil filter is pretty good,

just wondering how it compares to the "puralator" the 6 dollar one no the 2-3 dollar cheaper one???

The PureOne filter? It's the best filtering filter out there, unfortunately as a result of this, it's also very restrictive, therefore not the best filter you can use on a high-revving engine.
