ap1: redline at 9000rpm, 2.0 liter

ap2: redline at 8000rpm, 2.2 liter

2000-2001: plastic soft top window, carpet between the seats

2002-2003: leather between seats, addition of tweeters in the doors, glass window

2004-2005: new body styling, 2.2 liter blah blah blah

2006: traction control, stock HU upgraded...

im missing stuff im sure but thats a rough guide.

Are both the ap1 and ap2 still sold, or are there certain years that the ap1 was made, then switched over to the ap2?

Im not trying to be ghey, i just wanna learn. I will have an s2000 here before too long. Ive already got some ideas for things to do with it. Got to start somewhere right?

Plus So-Cal is kinda far for me.

Thanks for the year info.

Just some ideas. Volk Rims, OEM aero kit, decent exhaust, hardtop, CF Hood, JIC Coilovers, Stage 2 clutch, turbo kit, GReddy Emanage or AEM EMS, Some nice sparcos or cobra seats. Thats just a beginning list.

I dont wanna make it stand out, but to have a nice clean appearance, but the get up and go when I want it to.

Sounds "typical" for a new owner's mods list. It will change over time, trust me.

One thing though, JIC's coils are STIFF!

Shouldn't listen to anyones suggestions except your own. SCCA will put you in a class you can't handle with all those mods. Try stock first.

Well, got to start off slow, so youre right.

But getting an S2K in itself is a dream right now. Just trying to get some ideas.

That first page alone should do it.

Yeah, believe it or not, ive gone through all 76 pages of that thread.

I decided LONG, LONG before i Got my EM2, that i wanted an s2k.

Just seems such a far fetched idea, as I only make 22k a year. So that kinda sucks.

dude dont make it seem like u cant afford it. i make less then u and i bought a s2k. No mom and dad dont help. Yes its stock for now but yet i still own 1. Theres nothing in this world going to be handed to you, so if you really want 1 that bad u can get it. On top if u complain on how u cant afford 1 that mod list is going to the *****, i mean well of hand this car is high maintenance. Its expensive to maintain. Tires, brakes, fluids.....etc. on top of your mod list. All s2k owners know. Just good luckk and think thru it befor you get 1. Cause if you have problems managing ur money, in my own personal opinion its not cool to juz work for your car....dont try and eat steak when you can only afford hot dog. sorry im not trying to be a *****. But i guess it was just my lesson in life, when i bought my eg at 16 and i couldnt even afford it. Good Luck!

Keep it stock, put on GOOD tires (not the $30 pizza cutters but S02s or better), and then take it to some track days/driving school and drive with an instructor. You will learn more about the car and your driving in one day then all the miles of driving like boy racer on the street.

The s2k can be VERY fast driven correctly, its not very fast in a straight line, but it wasnt designed for that purpose.

I highly recommend you learn to drive/enjoy the car before you turn it into a rolling rice wasabi.

AMEN... shitty tires make S2000's handle like *** compared to stock/better tires. it's the most noticeable difference i've felt with any tire change. and remember... if you're not getting S02's for the rear... you need a 245 tire.. not a 225
