5 years ago and they called it the 2200?? Does that mean they had the same 2.2L engine we have in the states now, then? Or was it modified by Mugen to make the F20C into a 2.2L?

Mugen built it to 2.2L. Sam Mitani tested it in Road and Track and loved it. It was Mugen's concept of merging the S2000 into even more of a Honda F1 inspired vehicle.

Road and track drove one. They didn't think much of it. They gave it their standard "We got to drive it so lets not **** off the people that let us" comments. Really, it's jsut a more aerodynamic AP1 that has a 2.2 liter motor putting out 258 horsepower. The 0-60 was supposedly not really improved (or the difference was negligible). The quarter dropped a few tenths at least. They said it handled better, but I don't recall them mentioning if the top speed was even improved. I remember being very disappointed that say I was sitting on the crapper reading the article.
