Clarification on engine Rotation
I've searched around H-T and Google. I cannot find or get a clear answer regarding the S2000 (F20C and F22C) engines and their rotation. I am trying to figure out if it spins the same was as the Accord F22Ax series engines for a custom setup. If it does NOT, what will that effect if the transmission is installed for a RWD setup in a custom chassis. Rear end changes? Or just not possible at all.
Thanks!
Thanks!
If it'll work, it'll be mating to a F22Ax engine block (90-93 Accord). It's a 2.2l, 4cyl, and I've been told they are the same block castings. Whether that's true or not who knows, I have ZERO experience with S2000's.

There was no precursor to the s2000's motor, Its a new motor all together. Just because its a F motor does not make it the same family... f22b "2.2 sohc" f20b "2.0 dohc" etc no relation

When Honda was designing the S2K engine they looked at the F20B. Go read about the F20B some and you will see what I'm talking about.
Just because they aren't exactly the same doesn't mean they don't have a lot of similarities...

From some "extensive" Google searching, I've gotten a few pretty clear answers as far as the rotation, I'm still not sold because if no one REALLY knows, I can't be sure.
Can anyone walk out to their S2000, let it run, and tell me which direction the crank pulley turns, I'll have my answer. Thanks!

I have read and no where was the f20b mentioned, Honda started from scratch with this motor. They know what works and doesent and they did not go back to the f20 which is a de-stroked h22 and noting more. This motor uses tech from there F1 motors and no other. From this motor came the New K's
There is no similarities between the two except the fact that there both vtec and dohc's....

Thank you. Now we know, it spins OPPOSITE from the F/H/B/D motors.
The end.
