I'm already planning to get an aftermarket one but i wanted to use the factory one until then. so you say they fixed/replaced the balancer. Im not using mp3 cds just normal cds not burnt ones either. It'll will play a track or two then turn off.

i was just about to buy a new one but i tried some dust blower and it plays a little better but havent played it much.hope its just dust on laser.
The stock S2K sound system is not worth putting a penny into without replacing EVERYTHING, especially on AP1's.
But stock Honda soundsystems are usually trash; the 00-01 S2K is terrible, and I'd say the 02+ isn't a heck of a lot better...but a separate tweeter adds a bit more dynamic.

I would get an aftermarket headunit but i really like the dashboard controls lol.i know i can wire aftermarket units to use the dashboard controls but i suck at wiring.
Is there a comparatively cheap way to play mp3s with the stock radio.then, i wouldnt worry about this issue all together.

I am not sure what you are talking about but it sounds completely un-needed.
