Anyone read this? They attempted to break a 1.6-2.0l speed record, around 157 mph, held by a 86 Ford Escort. Bottom line, S2000 couldn't break 155, and the record still stands.
They employed AEM to rework the fuel system and computer, and ran 100+ octane fuel, the engine had problems.
The class rules that pertain to the record they were attempting to break allow for engine swaps as long as they are from the same manufacturer.
So why run a S2000? A 95 Civic Hatch with a B18c-r would be a better option, IMO.
