Nah. This can only be run on 06 and later because they use eeproms which are reflashable. Now, you can convert your pre 06 but at that point factoring the additional costs the aem ems may be the better option. Of course if you have an obd check at your inspection, this option is the only option. Even with kpro, though the ecu will show the vin you put in, it will also show it's a rsx ecu so you can still be potentially failed if the inspector is looking closely.

The earlier model ecus can't be reflashed. Sucks to be us. I don't think the reflash can control a boost solenoid either nor control nitrous. So if you already have an ebc and don't plan on running nitrous, the reflash is for you. Also, there is no limit to reflashes. You change your setup, just get a retune and reflash it.

We dont have inspector out here, just smoke test. I'm going to pass with a open down pipe this year.

lol they don't do the smoke test here, fool. OBD1 testing is obsolete. They just plug the car in now. If your car was made before 95, you don't have to even go to emissions anymore.

Anyway...I wouldn't go there with an open downpipe. The people at that place have noses. It says something about a penalty for trying to cheat the system. If they smell your fumes and look under your car, you're done. Just leave the exhaust on.

Yeah the F20 has the torque at the higher RPMs but the F22 has better lower end torque cause of the restricted or lower Redline. But overall a S2K is a S2K, regardless if its a AP1 or AP2

If you want a 'RAW' car get a ITR.

Personally i like the 9k redline of the f20 but the drive train is weaker in the ap1 and wont take as much abuse as the ap2.

my opinion and no offense to all ap2 owners...

i owned an ap1 for a year loved it and had to give it up because i got layed off from my job... didnt have a project for 3 years.. i knew i would get another s2k. i thought about pickin up an ap2. test drove my friends 04 and another friends 06... couldnt compare to my old ap1.... patiently saved enough cash and finally got me a GPW 03 with 15,000 miles.

most people that i have talked to knows s2000 for its famous 9000 rpm 240hp 4 cylinder engine... and ap2 only redlines at 8 grand.. but it has more torque.

things i dont like about the ap2:

exhaust
tailights
headlights
rear bumper
doesnt redline at 9k

things i like about ap2
center console
door panels

03 is the best ap1 from what ive heard.

AP1 is the more race feeling, AP2 is heavily refined and better for a novice driver.
