2004 debut

The name kinda helped for the year it was sold too. I hope that it is not a convertible cause then I would have to go trade it in, hahah. One thing is that I am considering a 350z as well. Both good cars, but Honda reliability and dependability OWN.
I don't think the s2k will ever go up in value. That was Honda's original selling point. "Oh ya, it's only going to be made for 2000 and 2001, and only 5000 a year, if you buy one now, you'll have 1 of only 10000 in America!" Thats why my dad spent $4k over sticker. He was told they'll never drop to MSRP. Now a new one can be under MSRP is you haggle well, and used, I just got mine for $24k, and my dad just sold his for $26k ($10k less than what he bought it for in 2000). Not to mention if you are patient you can find them for $22k. I think it's kind of leveled off where it is, but I don't expect it to go up in value, even if the coupe become the next big thing. Did the M3 roadster die when its coupe brother came along?
As far as convertible safety goes, just get the stupid SUV's off the road and we won't have to worry about it. With the new Hummer H2 out there, no one is safe, convertible or not.

If July comes and goes and none of the trade rags go ape-crap over some new "2004 S2000" then we just get new colors and foo-foo trim changes.

FYI - the US street date for new MYS2000's is usually October.
And yes, if there would ever be a bump in displacement, the name of the car would change to reflect it. For example: a 3.0l engine in the old S2000 chassis would be rebadged the S3000. A 2.4l engine in the old S2000 chassis would be rebadged the S2400. The orginal S500, S600, S800, and S2000 have the engine sizes of 0.5l, 0.6l, 0.8l, and 2.0l respectively.

They will change the 2004 I think since they did it two years after it's arrival to the US, but I hope not cause I can't wait that long. I swear it better not be better.
i have some friends in the industry and they gave me very little information. what they told me was that it will come out this fall, it's been bumped to 2.2 liters, small cometic changes. oh and the biggest shocker was no more 9k redline. i guess they did that for more torque this time.

I'm with jerry on this one, we might get a different color scheme or possible different rim/tire choices, but ther is no way that Honda spent what they did to develop the F20 to then go out and change it dramatically to keep up.

the major difference is that, they have a diff that change the steering sensitivity and control at higher speeds.
