Default 01 w/ 40k?

Whats a good offer price for an 01 with 40k? The car is perfect interior and exterior. I was thinking 17-18 with tax/title/tags. They are asking $19,800. Its at an Audi dealer...so I bet they wanna get rid of it.

Thanks-

I think the part of the country your in plays a part in the asking price for used S2K's. I've been looking for a used one pretty extensively lately, and I would agree 17-18K out the door is about right to me.

if your going to dealerships those are the prices your gonna get. Everyone who got there "cheap" S2k paid Cash from private party. I know out here in Cali. S2K still hold a good value.

Damn where do you guys find these deals? I've been looking at Autotrader for a while now, and in my area (Seattle) all of the cars you guys have described would be listed for $2-4k more. I know some dealers post their retail prices, but some on the other hand list close to the lowest price they will go for.

Also, I take it autumn is the time to get the best prices on S2k's?

i found mine on craigslist (www.craigslist.org), its like a classifies messageboard for your local area. i lucked out and bought mine from a military man who was leaving for basic training so he wanted a quick sale.

edit : i have a friend who runs a body shop and he buys the wrecked/stolen s2ks from the county auctions, repairs them then resells. you might be able to get a deal on a salvage title s2k but just make sure you get a theft salvage car so the frame should still be straight.

hes selling a 03 with 22k for 14k currently

04 with 13k for $23. Certified, btw. Not worth 2 cents now.

you sir got a deal one your white '01. Someone turned in a white/red lease to us. For my dealership to purchase that car from Honda so that we can sell it, they wanted $20.5K. We turned it down, and Honda picked it up that day. Lease turn in's usually sit for a week or so before they get picked up. That color combo will hold it's value more so then any other I think.
