Do some research, drive a 4th/5th gen and make up your own mind. Everyone has their own opinions. Mine is make sure not to get the f22 :Makes farting noise:
How much money you have to spend is a big factor... obviously.

get a beater and learn how not to wreck your second car then get prelude
i learned the hard way by buying and wrecking a Porsche 924S as my first car. It cost me a lot of money when I could have been saving that money to put into the lude I have now.

But at 16, I would just get a Civic because you're just starting to drive and it sucks getting tickets, plus gas prices can be a bitch sometimes.</TD></TR></TABLE>
avoid as many tickets as possible, the cops will be hunting for the young speeding punks, like yourself
plus you could get a beater and make it a sleeper...but if you have your heart set on a lude, which we all understand, test drive each, and pick the one you like the best. even though it will be the 5 gen. (i'm biased)

Im in love with my 4th gen 93 H22a. But in all honesty pick one that you like. Us luders are the elite. we got class, style, and we are a world apart from the rest. Glad to see a that you are interested in these beautiful machines.

Definitely, I'd start with a cheap as civic, drive it for a year, then get a prelude. I bought my first prelude at 16 and 2 weeks later it was gone, jumped into another one f22a
regretted that, wrecked that (thanked god for that one) and now i've had my champagne SE for 2 years... needless to say statistics show teenagers wreck their first cars and almost everyone I know has done so... it just happens with inexperience. But that's still your decision, either way, welcome to the prelude world

I started off with an 89 accord when I was 16 and got a 93 vtec the next year and never been in a wreck, so now you know someone, oh yea and I've had the lude for about 2 years now
