wierd problem with car
hello, i am new to honda-tech i have i problem with my 93 prelude vtec, it currently has an h22a in it, whenever i drive the car below 1/4 a tank of gas the car hesitates sometimes, now it happens when i have a half a tank of gas, the car would have no power, and sometimes dies, i dunno what the cause is, any suggestions would be helpful thanks.
Probably not very likely, but you might have cooked the fuel pump. The in-tank pumps use the gas as a coolant, if you drive it a LOT on not very much gas especially with as hell-ish as the weather has been (not to mention that it's 12 years old) then the pump itself may be going out.
i would unplug the fuel line to the rail and have someone start the engine and see if it's really pissing alot of gas coming out. If it's good. It can be due to spark issues.
hey guys, im back and i think the problem is gone because it doesnt act up at a half a tank of gas anymore, i was at autozone, and saw a gas treatment additive, i said it removes water from gas, i was thinking that the gas i use was being watered down and te car only hesitated at 1/4 a tank because i heard somewhere that water will just sit at top of gas, but when your tank is low it probably can get into the fuel line, im at like 5 bars on the gas right now and i still havent felt and hesitation, but i did try to floor it once at it did like a rev limit at 5000 rpms, well imma see if it still hesitates
