Default Wierd Electrical Problem

This just started after I swapped out my H23 to a F20B engine, everytime i hit the brake pedal the needles on the tach drops to zero and the dash and dome lights will dim. Also, when I turn my headlights on, my dome light goes super dim. Anyone ever seen anything like this before? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, when I step on the brake pedal I draw 16 amps. if that is any help. No blown fuses.

Shouldn't I blow a fuse if there is a short in the system? Where would be the best place to check for a short? I took out the entire driverside interior and could not find a short.

I installed a new alternator but I will try a new battery, ASAP. Could the new engine be any problem?

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Thanks for all your help. It started to work correctly now. I charged the battery up, and also, the grounds on the driver side motor mount were loose, I don't know if that had to do anything to do with it. Everything is working correctly now except I have a CEL code 3, MAP sensor I need figure out.

Thanks for you help!
