Secondly, what do you want to do with the car. Do you want to start doing suspension or motor work? If you plan on doing engine upgrades first, do you plan on going all motor, forced induction, or with a nitrous setup? These guys on this board can help you with pretty much any questions you have. Just gotta give us a little feedback and you're underway
Welcome
well the deal is that i need this car to keep every bit of its infamous honda reliability.. i believe that the basic suspension components are needed (i.e coilovers, strut tower and braces) then the motor werk..... where to start with the motor werk and the suspension is my dilemma... and which manufacturers are the best....
am i wrong with starting on suspension? i just have a nagging mom who has seen all the problems i have had mith my lowered s-10 ( 2 trannies and a driveshaft!)
and doesnt like the idea of modifying my car...

You should pick up a good set of coilovers and shocks if you plan on going 2" or lower...if you do, you will need a camber kit as well--2" is a clean drop. I haven't done suspension yet, unfortunately, but the guys here who have can give you some quality names. Personally, you can't go wrong with Eibach, H&R, Skunk2, or RSR for the drop, and as far as shocks go...some guys here are happy with some KYB adjustables, Konis, and Tokicos, it just depends on what you want to spend on them. Front and rear strut bars are a dime a dozen, pick one, lol.For the best bang-for-the-buck gains, you should do a cold air intake (AEM is the most popular) and catback exhaust combo (Greddy PE or EVO, Tanabe, Apexi-N1 are a few popular choices here). The header can wait because the stock design will do fine for now. Some AEM pulleys would give you slight gains as well and is a fairly easy upgrade. If you need a rough idea of how much this will run you, you're asking the wrong dude, lol--but I'm sure others here can help out...Damn, I didn't intend on typing this much
