Haha, yeah. I haven't ever taken out an SH engine, but I would imagine it would be much easier to install the ATTS unit with the block out of the car. I know it is very tight in there....

for my 4th gen. somehow it's pretty a tight squeeze to drop it in with the tranny. unless you have one of those car lifts and drop your car over the engine. i rather drop in the motor and then stick in the tranny from underneath
i just did a motor and trans for a sh this weekend. it was so so so much easier pulling and installing as a unit then separately. it does take some maneuvering but still much easier. also a load leveler will help alot.
