What prelude model is this...
Hi guys,
wonder if yo can help. I'm about to buy a prelude (Jap import 2.2 VTEC) that I won on ebay. I noticed it doesn't have cruise control of a sunroof and obviously the bottons where these would be are missing and there is a little cubby hole.
I understand the above where not optional extras. Is this model I am about to buy the lightweight BB4 Version or something? Apparently it has 4ws.. which made me wonder, but the guy may be wrong he didnt seemto clued up.
What are the benefits of a BB4 are they much faster? Or is this not a bb4 just some cheap prelude 2.2 VTEC without those extras?
Help apreciated!

Haha.. no mate I havn't brought it yet. I'm just wondering what it is!? Probably just a normal prelude without sunroof or cruise control or those three buttons... but they're standard which made me wonder if its another edition or something like a BB4.
I'm sure someone will know..
THis is what I mean by this missing buttons;

Re: (roller3804)
If that car was over in the us it would be very rare because of the no sunroof.
I always wondered why in some of the jdm ludes the dimmer was in the center console and this is the reason why.

OK, its definitely a Jap import. The folding mirrors are standard spec on the JDM models and by the dash lights i can say that it is pre-1994. (Judging by the lack of airbags i think it is a '91-92 model but don't quote me on that.)

Re: (rawNAprelude)
the gauges are the el gages so its definatly not a 91 (maybe after 93). and in japan they had different rules for airbags.

Re: (rawNAprelude)
Hello I think a few people may have got a little confused. I know for a fact that it is a JDM import and is fitted with the H22 VTEC. I was just wondering why it didn't have a sunroof or those 3 buttons for the cruise control etc. And by the way, its actually a 1995 model to the guy that thought it was pre 94!
So just to conclude, what I have got is a normal 197bhp Jap import Honda prelude. Not a special edition or anything, just one without cruise control and the sunroof? ANd i think you right it doesnt have airbags does it... thats what threw me! Was not having airbags an option in Japan too then?
I'm not to familiar with the various prelude models but wasn't there a lightweight version called the BB4 that didnt have 4ws, sunroof etc? I was just wondering if this was that.
I am picking her up tomorrow btw, quite excited... and no i didnt get ripped off atall. I got it extremely cheap. Only £900!
Here are some other pictures for the guy that asked. I hope this is helpful in identifying it. I wont have the VIN number till tomorrow... And i'll take some pictures myself then and put them in the picture thread You will noptice it has a scratch to the back and the speedo needle light needs replacing but thats all thats wrong with it..
