What the hell downpipe is this?
So I took of my GReddy header today cause I sold it. Getting Lepto's slip-joint 4-1 custom header in a couple weeks. So in the meantime I dug up a 'stock' header and downpipe from their junkpile to put on. So I get the top piece...and then I grab the downpipe....
Immediately I was like WTF is this? It fit exactly on the H22a top piece, but it was freaking HUGE.

You can see here it 'ovals' right before the collector

From looking at this pic...of the base to type-s modification...

So is this just a stock JDM Downpipe? damn it is a large piece of header...
BTW it fit perfectly onto the 4th gen I have...no modifcation necessary.

I don't think so. The greddy primary flange appears to be much lower on the block.
Makes sense now why Spoon only made a top piece. Guess this will be for sale in a couple weeks if someone wants it. It's way bigger than stock there is no question about that.
My mechanic comment it was larger than the Greddy in ALL places. Downpipe only of course. The top piece is so small!

sooo.... just for clarification it's not cast iron like my H23 is it? Also could we get some measurements of the inlets and outlet? I'm a Spoon nut to the point of ignoring real performance so... if there actually could be some good gains from strapping the Spoon 4-2 on there well honestly it'd be phat as hell.

I can get them when I pull it off again. I was actually thinking the same thing. Spoon 4-2 with that downpipe....it makes more sense now why they made it like that.
I doubt the DP flange is 2.5" though
edit: John says it's 60mm aka 2.36"
