vtec controller questions....
ok so it seems like i was misunderstanding these contollers. i just bought an apexi vafc and was looking to my favorite tune site(honda-tech.com) for some pointers. but mostly i see nothing good being said about them.
so i am running an h23 block and crank, h22 head stock cams. h22 eagle rods and some custom ross slugs, that should put me at about 10.3:1 or so. i upgraded the vavle train to some skunk 2 goodies and some cam gears. the valve pockets/bowls have had some machine work and the stock h22 valves are still in there. the obvious cold air intake and 97 stock ecm are being used. i wanted to still pass emissions with the readiness code and maintain some sort of gas mileage. so i opted to not go with a hondata or similar since they won't generate the code for emissions. so i thought piggy back would get me what i wanted. i'm not afraid to do the time tuning it and be a part of the 2% that do.
am i still wasting time/money? anybody got pointers?
thanx
