just a really quick question... does it matter which side of the cams you stick in the feeler gauge? does it matter if i stick it in the side with the rocker arms or not? thanks for the help.

i have a h23a. the intake is .003 and the exhaust is .006. what i mean is that does it matter which side of the intake cam, for example, i put the feeler gauge? theres a side where there is nothing and the other side is your valves and rocker arms, etc. thanks for the help again

If you want to measure how wide your front door is, does it matter if you stand inside or outside?

im not understanding man. when you use the feeler, your setting according to the clearance between your valves and rockers.

You are setting the clearance between your rockers and you base circle of the cam. You should come in from the left side of the exhaust cam and right side of the intake cam when looking at it from the driver side. It makes it easier to adjust them if you come in from those sides. Mike

At TDC for the specific cylinder your measuring, just stick the guage in between the rocker's roller and the cam lobe. Make sure to measure the distance in between these two when the specific cylinder is at TDC.

On the H22A 93-96, the intake specs are 0.006-0.007, and exh is 0.007-0.008. I just adjusted mine last night, and have to go back in for more work tonight because we tightened them up too much, and now the cam lobes is really working against the rocker, and its making a not-so-good noise. thx.

No, your actually setting the distance in between the cam lobe at TDC and the rocker arm.
