Default vafc question

i'm installing the vafc tonight and i want to know if i can just install wiring, do the intial settings and not have to set anything else. i don't want to mess with anything because i'm driving to maryland tomorrow and it will be dyno tuned on thur. also are there any tips you could give me before i tackle this install? i know how to splice the wires in and all that. the only thing i'm worried about is properly locating wires on the ecu and the ecu removal itself. (i never messed with one, so i'm not exactly sure how to remove it/access the wires)

Yeah you dont have to actually set any of it if you dont want. Just dont cut the wrong wires cause that will cause a problem. LOL Its not too hard to do though.

from my experience with my V-AFC, the only advice i could offer is have more than one person check which wire you are splicing. Also, i have seen installs where people use electrical tape or butt-connectors to connect the wires. Do not do this. I counted the number of holes in the wiring harness on the wiring diagram and matched that number to the acutal wiring harness from the ECU to get the right wire. (did that make any sense?) The wiring harnesses just unplug out of the ECU. I dont know if that helped at all...

I know you are doing the install tonight but I highly recommend the Fields harness when installing the Vafc. It made it so much easier soldering wires at a workbench instead of in the passenger side of the lude. Also if I happened to mess anything up I could just pull the harness and no harm done. Just my 2 cent, good luck
