Default Using different main caps

This weekend I bought two blocks, a F22 and a H23 short block. The H23 block which is going to be my new base block to start my build on was missing the main caps, but the F22 which i believe has the same Caps ( do not know this for a fact) are in tact.

My question is will I be able to use the main caps from the f22 if i have them align bored to match the h23 block?

I had done some research and came up with minimal information dealing with honda engines. I also just got off the phone with a machine shop here in town and said that on most engines this cannot be done but he was unsure about honda applications.

If anyone has dont this or know if its possible please help me!

That would be a long shot since they are bored in assembly. They could cut the caps down, reasemble them and rebore them but this is a tough job and would cost more than finding another good block. Even then the circumstances would have to be just right for it to work.

This. Same goes for the cylinder head. Honda engines are a dime a dozen. Easier and cheaper to get a complete engine. (minus the accessories)

i've had to use different caps from different heads to make one work, but i had to pay 200 dollars to get the cam journals line honed. Worked perfect afterwards though.

Good news is the guy i bought the block from found the caps and retainer!

Glad too cause the block is mint, cylinders are smooth as glass, still have the cross hatches from the hone it got 600 miles ago when it was rebuilt.

Hopefully i dont make the mistake of the previous owner and spec my bearing clearances out right haha.
