upgrade plugs and wire difference
ok i have a 93vtec prelude i had full tune up at 90k with stock ngk platinum plugs. the stock wires where still good at 90k so i didnt change them. The car now has 124,000k on it and still runs perfect. My question is i got ahold of some new NGK plug wires for real cheap. I was thinking about putting them on now, but not sure if i should just use the old ones untill they wear out. So will i notice any difference in performance if i replace the old ones with the new ones now ???? Also if i go ahead and put the new wire's on now should i go ahead and replace the plugs too (even if there still in good condition). Any performance gains from using the iridium plugs over the platinum?? Im new at doing things to my car myself so sorry if this is a newb question. would really appreciate your thoughts though. thanks
most will tell you that spark plugs should stay stock unless you have gone turbo. Plug wires from honda work great. I had Iridium plugs and noticed no difference at all just a lighter wallet. save your money and use it to purchase another aftermarket performance part. hope this is helpful. my current plug wires are magnecore just because i got a great deal on them.
