Default Tuning

So i have read up on tuning and engine management stuff. I think i have decided that i want to get into tuning. Yes i will continue looking things up online. but what else should i look into for information? maybe like some books or something? i plan on turbo-ing my car next summer-fall, sometime around there. then also, hopefully, i will do my first tune then. i am currently also leaning towards crome pro? what are your thoughts on that? any and all advice is appreciated!

Broke alot of parts and learned from my mistakes.

Its very costly to do things on your own. Everything looks easy as cake and simple when you see it on the internet, but when it comes down to you doing it, esp your first time, it isnt as simple as you intended it to be.

Practice makes perfect, and if you dont have anyone to teach you how to do things properly, well, its going to be very exspensive...

And if you get over confident about things, well, that is always a laugh form someone elses shoes, not yours.

Ya I understand that it will be very difficult. I am not going to lie, I basically know nothing. I can not really find anything that show's me how? Like for one, What is all the parts you need to tune(after you have the chip and correct ECU in). I keep reading about these wideband o2 sensors and stuff. I really dont understand what they do, or if they are even needed? If you could, please tell me a list of things that are needed, and what they do. or please point me in a direction, as i cannot find anything. Thanks for the help!

go to hondata web site, and read stuff there. They have like a FAQ on how to tune. And a wideband o2 senser is a must. (its much more acurate then the stock o2 senser, So you know when the motor is lean or rich on fuel)

but im no tuner, I just have hondata S300 and i have read quite a bit from there site.

honestly I would find a local, reputable, tuner and listen to what they recommend. Tunning is the most important thing with our motors, hence why they call us "tuners", the amount of time and money it is going to take you to figure it out you would b better off taking it to a shop and having them do it. We all have our trades, some ppl work sales, others welding, blah blah blah... leave it to the experts and pay them for their expertise and have it done right. I am not trying to say don't learn, i really commend you for reading up on everything... I am just looking out for your best interest and at the end of the day if you want to go big on the motor worry about everything else and leave the tunning to the experts.

Thanks alot! I was really hoping for an anwer from you. I have read lots of the things you have talked about, and i agree with you with basically everything you say.

And to teambk8, yes i was actually looking for that first. But i cannot find any reputable tuners in utah? Thats why i thought it would be a good idea to learn, i think i would get quite a bit of business.

EDIT: also if anyone could explain why not to use crome pro? I think it would be fine but i could be mistaken very easily.
