yesterday i opened my trunk and i heard loud noise and i heard it again wen i closed it, so i put my back seats down and i had some one open the trunk for me and i saw that there was a plastic clip with two lines attached on it they would spin and then run into each other every time the trunk would open and close. does anyone know how this piece goes??

i think that the clip goes into them slots but i don't know how to get it in there

 

same exact thing happened to me, U can open up the clip, removing the bars from it, then put the clip in its spot and replace the bars and close the clip

 

i did take the clip out...but the thing is i dont know how to put the clip back in its place i dont know how it goes..in the first pic it looks like there a peace of the clip thats broken but im not sure i dont know how is was positioned before.....can anyone take a pic of there trunk to see how theres is positioned it would help soo much. just keep in mind that i have a 97 not sure if it makes a difference.
