I went to the dealership to get my car checked on b/c of misfiring and idle keeps dropping. The said since I rebuilt another motor and dropped it in, they can't look into it. But, he told me since I rebuilt another motor, my ECU might not work the same to my new motor than my old motor did and that's why I might be having trouble. Can he be right????
Anybody have any suggestions on how I should fix my car?? I have multiple misfire, Misfire in cylinders 1,2,3,and 4. And my car wont seem to stay on. The engine will stay on if I rev it, but if I left go the gas in neutral, the idle drops and turns off. Any help would be great.....

yea, check the grounds, also check the plugs and make sure they are gapped correctly, also check to make sure your cams are in time with your crank, sometimes when motors are rebuilt people put them a tooth off, also check your spark timing and while you're doing that clean off the cap & rotor and make sure your fuel system is working properly

Thanks for some idea's. I changed the distributer cap, the rotor, I tried 2 sets of spark plugs, and gap them correctly. But, I do need to check my grounds. Should I go ahead and make another ground from the block or head to the strut tower?? Any other suggestions??
What about my idle problem?? How should I go with that???

yeah just try adding another ground wire. Don't have to do anything fancy right now. Just throw one on just to see if it will help.
That might help with the idling problem as well. Also check for any vacuum leaks.

if your so convinced that your electrical stuff is ok, then i might check you timing marks, your cam gears could be off one tooth one way or the other, and it runs but runs like ****, and the only other thing i can think of if you timing belt isn't on wrong, is that you have bent valves

No, it can't be the valves. I had new valves put in. I'm pretty sure my timing is right too. I used a timing gun and checked it all and it looked straight.
