Default Transmission issues.

I have a 97 type SH. My transmission grinds in first and second so I need to know how much it would cost to replace my gear synchros and for some odd reason my reverse clicks.... Anyone know why my transmission makes a clicking sound? My parents bought me the car knowing that the car made the clicking noise and all they did was tell me not to use reverse... The clicking sound is actually pretty loud and right after I get moving the car still clicks even when I press the clutch in. The sound just gets quieter but you can still hear it. Anyone have any ideas? Should I just get a new tranny or just get it repaired... I don't have a lot of money so any cheap fix would be good.

Cheapest thing to do would be to double-clutch, second cheapest would be to change the transmission fluid and put Honda genuine MTF in it from the dealership. If you can't do it, they'll probably charge you like 50 bucks. If you buy everything you need to do it, it'll be more like 20 but it's messy as hell so you might wanna just have them do it.

No guarantee that changing the fluid would fix it, but it can't hurt.

My clutch went out and I took it to a transmission only shop and told them to fix my 5th gear grind while they were at it and the guy actually made it a lot worse (used to to do it above 4000 rpms, now it happens always). I'm disputing the charge, but it's still F'ed up. Double clutching into 5th stop all the grind though, so I'm just going to ignore it. Changing the fluid made it easier to shift into all the other gears though, so it was worth it.

my 3rd and 5th grinds into gear if I shift anytime above 3500 rpm. double clutching does help. as for the clicking could be a halfshaft, mine clicked in reverse before they went completely bad. I bought a trans from craigslist for 200 bucks with 80k miles and never havent had any issues so far..
