My synchros on my tranny are going out/are out, and maybe even more problems, and I need to do something before everything dies.....if I take it easy I can probably get another 6 months to a year out of it, but as you guys know.....who wants to take it easy! Does anyone know of a good or easy place to get a jdm tranny for my '92 Prelude...I was looking at a JDM because they have a built in LSD....my local tuner shop said he could get one for about 700 or 800 is that good?? Please help....can't drive this slow for long!!!!!!!!!!!

that is a normal price for a jdm lsd h22a tranny, but make sure it is a LSD tranny, i think the code is M4B2 something like that (you should search for the code) also if you look at where the axle hole is you should be able to look straight through to the other end.

TTT - My problem is when I shift into third at whatever speed except when I drop the rpm's down to 0 I get this grinding sound. It's probably most likely the synchros, but my step dad said that it might just be in need of some sort of adjustment. Is there anything that anyone might know to help. Thanks!!

 

sycrnos are gone, i went threw 2 sets, now i just paid 1k to have my jdm lsd rebuilt, enough w/the used stuff. 7-8 is normal price on those. code is m2b4 on prelude jdm lsd, get that for a perfect fit w/good ratios. or one from the f20b, ask satensrv, even closer gears. but i remember a member on here saying the tranny mount didn't line up to the frame right.

 

My local tuner shop asked 250 for labor just putting in the tranny....is that a good deal??? And is the tranny hard to pull out?? Probably will replace it myself if I can't find a good deal on anything...
