Default Traction problem

I am getting some terrible wheel hop off the line lately. I am using a generic front strut bar, no LSD, H22vtec 5spd. Kumho ecsta supra 17s over rotas. Any help would be great. What is the problem? What can I do to fix?

Thanks all

A front strut bar isn't going to get you any traction. and I think you mean Rotas not rodas. What RPMs are you lanching it at?

Traction bars (when they finally come out), and motor mount inserts.

I remember some company that makes a "special" bushing for some of the front control arms (4th gen.) that virtually eliminates wheel hop?!?!?! If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please elaborate.

Probably not. But you should get the poly inserts for your motor mounts. they will help a bit, and then whenever LCON or Anthony get their traction bars out, that will take care of the rest.

All those ideas are valid, but a pain in the ***. Check out your strut rod bushings, they're the bushing in the front crossmember. They hold the radius rod which is bolted to the LCA reducing/preventing the tires from sliding under load.

I have a bad wheel hop problem too. I have motor mount inserts so my motor does not move at all. I have lsd with falken azenis tires. When i do burnouts i have to let off sometimes bc it gets so bad that my axles feel like their gonna break. I think my ball joints split letting out the grease a while back when i changed a broken axle. Could that be causing this bad wheel hop.

Any recomendations for inserts? (brand or manufacturer)

LCON or Anthony

Thanks alot everyone for your help.

Energy Suspension has good inserts--https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=713941

Anthony is a member on this board (PrecisionH23a)--https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=902329

LCON is another company that just recently asked who would be interested.

LCON will start making them for our car if there is enough interest. He quoted me $450 for them. Replaces front crossmember, and includes front motor mount. Their products for DA and EP look great. Check out the sponsor suspension forum.

yeap, poly inserts will help a little, but you may just be launching at too high of an RPM too. 4k sounds okay though, which is weird that youd get bad wheel hop.

i agree that traction bars would be a pain too, someone's gotta have a better idea to fix this problem. im kinda curious now too

do you have the same problem? have you done all the suggested fixes?

Also if anyone has had this problem and has any other suggestions for a cure I am still open too other options.

Thanks

P.S. - I should also state that I am using a tein ss full coilover system. Do adjustments I make with the dampening have an effect on wheel hop? I haven't noticed a difference, but have been focusing more on ride handeling and comfort then traction with those adjustments.

How come no one mentioned shocks? Seems like they'd be a huge part of the equation.

actually i found somthing out...im a 3rd genner though, but we all have a similar suspensionn deisgn...
and this is the really short version

the traction bars that civics have are designed to put more preassure on certian parts of the suspension to "load" them before launching the car...teh war our cars are designed, if you replace the bushings in tehre with poly bushings, or just get teh old worn out ones out of there, it will do teh same as what a traction bar will do for a civic...so try that first if you cna, go get some new bushings, poly is best but rubber is better than 10yr old bushings...

good luck

Have they actually made any yet? I went through the thread in the classifieds and he said he was waiting for more demand before he would make them...

hOndafienD 04, I don't think they have a website, but Camp1320 sells them.
