Default traction bars

Is it possible to eliminate front cross-member and front motor mount and add traction bars and if so who makes these traction bars

Lots of people have tried getting some Prelude traction bars out, but the only thing currently available is the setup custom made for Oaks Racing from PFI in Colorado. I have heard that they have some made ready to sell, but they haven't answered any of my e-mails.

The front mount can definately be removed if you use stiffer mounts, like the ones that Innovative Mounts just came out with.

I have spoke to Full race, and they said that they need a chassis to do measurement. So if you are in Az area give your car to them, and you get to keep the prototype for free!!!! only downside is not having your car couple of day, that is all.

I'd "take one for the team." If I had some other way of getting to work. In AZ a car is EVERYTHING. I'm hoping I can buy another car soon...something cheap I can drive while I finally put the prelude out to do serious work on it. My poor lude is out of shape....bad. Where is FR located anyway?

edit: I'll definetly look into it though. I'll make some calls when I get out of work.

Guys I spoke with PFI 2 days ago to find out what is going on. They are making one more modification that will be a solid front mount that will bolt on.

Well, I spoke with someone at full race on the phone a little while ago............

I'm not sure what his name was again. I think he was the manager. At any rate, they are looking for a Prelude chasis. The problem for me is they currently only want the 5th gen. He said they would make the 4th gen one later after the 5th gen traction bar is released.

So this is kinda beyond me now. Unless I buy a 5th gen...wich isn't gonna happen.

Some 5th gen owner in AZ HAS to be interested in a free T bar though. C'mon....some one else in AZ give them a call. Don't be lame now.

Maybe, this requires a new post so, it could get more people's attention. The title should be: "If you live in AZ and own a 5th gen, get your **** over to FR."

Didn't Full Race state (in a previous thread)that a traction bar won't work on the SH? Im getting the PFI. Once I have it, I will take pics and do a write up.

That shouldn't leave the base model out though. Maybe that's what they are attempting.

Anyway a write up of anything that has to do with Preludes I WILL read. I'm looking forward to the responses toward the PFI bar. They should be very good considering they built one for the oak's racing lude.

They pretty much had them done and I brought up an ideal to add the option of a solid front engine mount and thats what they are working on. Go ahead and give PFI a call. Their number is on their website http://www.pfispeed.com ask for Paul. He should be able to give you an update.

Good luck guys.

Cool, thank you. I would personally rather not have a front mount, so hopefully there will be an option with/without it....

What are the benefits of a front engine mount? Are there any negative aspects of it?
